St. Patrick's Cathedral to Host Immersive LUMINISCENCE Experience

Beginning October 1, 2026, New York City’s St. Patrick's Cathedral will transform into an immersive digital canvas. Banijay Americas is bringing its LUMINISCENCE production to the landmark, utilizing 360-degree video mapping, live orchestral arrangements, and narration by actor Jonathan Roumie to reinterpret the Gothic Revival space through light and sound.

St. Patrick's Cathedral to Host Immersive LUMINISCENCE Experience

Since its 2023 debut, the LUMINISCENCE project has reached over two million visitors across eight countries. The New York installation aims to highlight the cathedral’s architectural history while generating support for the restoration of its historic pipe organs. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit the 'Renew the Living Voices' campaign, which is currently overseeing a multi-year renovation of the cathedral’s 7,500-pipe Gallery Organ.

Actor Jonathan Roumie, a native New Yorker, will provide the narrative voice for the experience. According to Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas, Roumie was chosen for his ability to bring depth to the storytelling, bridging the gap between the building’s spiritual legacy and a modern, immersive format. Romain Sarfati, co-founder of LOTCHI, which created the experience, describes the production as an effort to reveal the cathedral’s inherent beauty rather than merely decorating it with light. The production will offer both recorded and live performances, featuring a choir and the LUMINISCENCE Orchestra on select dates.
