The new format is designed to attract fitness enthusiasts who prioritize low-impact movement over heavy lifting. By layering electrical muscle stimulation onto familiar yoga and Pilates flows, the program aims to activate up to 90% of muscle fibers in a condensed window. CEO Lindsay Junk noted that the expansion is not intended to replace the company's core strength offerings but to broaden the brand's appeal to those who typically avoid high-intensity resistance training.
BODY20 pivots to low-impact fitness with new 20-minute Tone class
Newport Beach-based fitness brand BODY20 is moving beyond its traditional strength-training roots with the launch of Tone, a 20-minute workout session. Set to debut August 20, the class integrates yoga, Pilates, and barre movements with the company’s FDA-cleared Dry Tech EMS suit to target muscle fibers through electrical stimulation.

Each session follows a strict 20-minute structure: a three-minute calibration phase, 15 minutes of barre and Pilates-inspired movements, and a final two-minute stretch. As the franchise grows to more than 60 locations across the United States, with new studios slated for Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, and New Jersey, this diversification serves as a strategic play to capture a wider share of the wellness market.
