Bank Leumi Posts $940M Net Income in Strong Second Quarter
Bank Leumi reported a net income of NIS 2.8 billion ($940 million) for the second quarter of 2026, marking an 8.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The results place the Israeli lender at the upper end of its annual profitability targets amid a period of aggressive loan portfolio expansion.

Operational efficiency remains a cornerstone of the bank's current strategy. Leumi maintained an efficiency ratio of 24.7%, a significant improvement from the 29.1% recorded in the first quarter of 2026. Management attributes this performance to the ongoing integration of artificial intelligence and advanced technology leadership. Reflecting this stability, the bank announced a total capital return of NIS 1.4 billion—comprising both cash dividends and share buybacks—which accounts for 50% of the quarter's net income. As of June 30, the bank reported a Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio of 11.65% and a liquidity coverage ratio of 122%.
