Sabadell Renews Amundi Alliance as Columbia Threadneedle Expands Bonds

Banco Sabadell and Amundi have extended their strategic distribution partnership by five years, pushing the agreement through 2035. The collaboration, which began in 2020, has seen assets under management for Sabadell’s network clients climb to nearly €30 billion, serving over 200,000 individual investors across the Spanish market.

The renewal reinforces a long-term commitment to capturing growth within Spain’s savings sector. By leveraging Amundi’s expertise in active, passive, and private markets, the bank continues to broaden its investment offerings. Since the partnership’s inception, the platform has successfully scaled its managed assets from €20 billion to its current levels, cementing Amundi’s footprint in one of Europe’s most significant financial regions.

Simultaneously, Columbia Threadneedle Investments is shifting its strategy to meet renewed investor appetite for fixed income. The asset manager has launched the Luxembourg-domiciled CT (Lux) Global Aggregate Bond fund, repurposing its former Asian bond mandate into a broader, core global allocation. Managed by Keith Patton’s team, the fund prioritizes interest rate-focused strategies alongside selective corporate credit exposure. Michaela Collet-Jackson, head of distribution for EMEA, noted that the move addresses client demand for active, resilient portfolio components as global market dispersion creates new management opportunities.
