Swan Bitcoin Launches Sovereign Service for Guided Self-Custody

For Bitcoin owners intimidated by the technical risks of managing their own private keys, a new service from Swan Bitcoin aims to bridge the gap between total independence and managed security. Swan Sovereign offers professional guidance and ongoing support while ensuring clients maintain exclusive control over their digital assets.

The service functions as a middle ground for investors who are hesitant to manage their assets entirely alone but wish to avoid custodial solutions where a third party holds their keys. Under the Sovereign model, clients retain 100% control of their private keys, with Swan explicitly barred from accessing or storing seed phrases. The offering includes a dedicated relationship manager through the company’s Swan Private membership, providing access to exclusive research and events.

To mitigate the risks associated with long-term storage, the subscription includes an annual security check-in with a custody expert to review setups and hardware status. This is paired with a continuous education stream, featuring monthly newsletters on phishing awareness and operational security, alongside quarterly webinars. According to CEO Cory Klippsten, the goal is to provide a safety net for those who want full autonomy but value having experts available to navigate technical hurdles. The service is currently available to U.S.-based clients for a monthly fee of $25.
