The new fasteners feature a proprietary Lightning Point tip, which the company claims starts 20% faster than conventional designs and prevents the screw from walking across slippery metal surfaces. To further enhance precision, the screws utilize a T-20 star drive with StikFit technology, a combination intended to minimize wobble and reduce the frequency of dropped hardware during high-stakes installations. A low-profile washer head rounds out the design, providing a semi-flush finish that improves overall structural grip.
Teks Debuts Elite Line of Self-Drilling Metal Fasteners
Contractors tackling ductwork and metal framing now have a high-performance alternative to standard hardware. Teks has unveiled its Elite Metal-to-Metal Screws, a premium fastener series engineered to eliminate pre-drilling while increasing installation speed and clamping force across demanding jobsite applications.

Kim Cortes, senior product manager at Teks, noted that the line addresses the common frustrations of metal-to-metal assembly, where minor installation errors often compound into significant labor delays. While the Elite series targets professionals requiring higher control and consistency, it will exist alongside the company's original screw line rather than replacing it. The new products are currently rolling out to major retailers, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon, as well as specialized lumberyards and hardware suppliers nationwide.
