The event aims to shift the tone of the back-to-school season by replacing routine supply drives with a high-energy festival atmosphere. Attendees can participate in 1v1 and 3v3 basketball tournaments, enjoy live DJ sets, and access free services like professional haircuts. Organizers plan to distribute roughly 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, supported by product samples from TruHeight and basketballs provided by The Hoop Bus.
Quincy Helsel Brings Back-to-School Carnival to Denver
Thousands of Denver students are expected to descend on George Washington High School on August 30, 2026, for the second annual Quincy’s Community Classic. The event, hosted by local basketball creator Quincy Helsel and nutrition brand TruHeight, blends competitive sport with a massive giveaway of school essentials and carnival entertainment.

This year’s iteration follows a successful 2025 debut that drew 2,000 people and provided hundreds of essential items to local families. Helsel emphasized that the goal is to create an environment kids genuinely want to attend, ensuring they leave with necessary gear without the stigma of traditional charity events. The afternoon will feature appearances by prominent social media personalities and athletes, including Khan Asadi, JrJayy, and Capri Jones, as part of a broader push to keep the initiative free for all participants.
