After six days of intense competition against a field of over 4,000 entrants, Las Vegas professional Evan Sandberg secured the title at the 20th Annual Arizona State Poker Championship. He walked away with $627,050, the largest share of the $3,977,820 prize pool at Talking Stick Resort.

The victory carries personal weight for Sandberg, who traced his poker roots back to childhood sessions watching televised tournaments with his father. This win stands as his largest career payday to date. Patricia Tate, President and CEO of Talking Stick Resort, praised the event's longevity, noting that the tournament has served as a cornerstone for regional talent for two decades. The resort now prepares to host the World Series of Poker Circuit from November 5–16, 2026.
