Camel Group Secures European OEM Deal for Sodium-Ion Battery Tech

The agreement leverages Camel Group's existing engineering progress with cylindrical sodium-ion cells and its established small-batch production capacity. This development follows the company’s successful supply of 12V lithium-ion systems to European automakers, reinforcing its position as a specialized supplier for evolving automotive electrical requirements. Sodium-ion technology is increasingly viewed as a viable alternative for low-voltage systems due to its performance in cold climates, resource abundance, and long cycle life, all of which align with stringent decarbonization mandates. Camel Group, which draws on four decades of experience in the battery sector, is currently spearheading the international standardization process for 12V automotive start-stop sodium-ion batteries under the IEC/TC21 framework. This project offers a critical testing ground for the company to refine its product adaptability against the rigorous quality standards demanded by the European market.
