Founded in 2025 by Sumit Sinha and Vijay Goel, the startup addresses a critical imbalance in medical research where populations in South Asia, representing nearly 25% of the world, account for less than 2% of participants in large-scale genomic studies. The company’s platform currently operates within more than 90 hospitals and diagnostic labs, standardizing fragmented electronic health records, pathology slides, and genomic sequences into a cohesive, research-ready format.
This capital injection supports a two-sided expansion strategy. In the U.S., OmicsBank plans to partner with health systems to integrate domestic patient populations into its standardized network, while simultaneously increasing its footprint across Asia and the Middle East. By de-identifying and structuring multimodal data at the source—including longitudinal EHR data from 12.5 million patients—the company provides pharmaceutical and AI firms with cleaner inputs for biomarker discovery and model training. Beyond data aggregation, the firm is developing GPU-enabled environments to facilitate computational biology research and reinforcement learning for clinical models, ensuring that global health insights reflect a broader demographic reality.
