The new storefront at Marketplace at Altamonte serves as a key component of the company's broader retail strategy. By establishing a physical footprint, Wayfair aims to attract customers who might otherwise bypass the online-only catalog. According to Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores, the company views these locations as learning hubs to refine how digital and physical shopping experiences intersect.
Wayfair Targets Florida for Tenth Physical Retail Location
Wayfair plans to open an 85,000-square-foot store in Altamonte Springs, Florida, by 2028. This move marks the company’s tenth physical location, signaling a strategic shift toward an omnichannel model that blends digital convenience with in-person design services and immediate product availability for the Central Florida market.

Data from existing sites, such as the location in Chicago, indicates that physical storefronts effectively draw in new demographics, with over 50% of visitors identified as first-time customers. The Altamonte Springs site will offer access to design experts and curated product displays, mirroring the format used in other regional hubs like Atlanta and Columbus. This expansion coincides with a revitalization project at the Marketplace at Altamonte, positioning the brand within a high-traffic retail corridor.
