Data-Driven Testing Links SQAIRZ Footwear to Increased Baseball Power

Testing at the CURVE Sports Regional West Showcase revealed that 82% of 150 baseball athletes improved their hitting metrics after switching to SQAIRZ footwear. The study recorded 1,655 swings, showing significant gains in both peak and average exit velocity across various hitter profiles, from developing players to high-power athletes.

The two-day evaluation established performance baselines for each athlete before they transitioned to SQAIRZ shoes. Among the 123 players who saw improvements, the average peak exit velocity increased by 1.59 mph, while average exit velocity rose by 2.63 mph. Most notably, 91% of those who benefited saw a boost in consistency, with 81 athletes improving both their peak and average velocity simultaneously.

Beyond raw power, the footwear influenced first-swing readiness. Athletes averaged 78.54 mph on their initial attempt in SQAIRZ, a figure that surpassed the average final-swing performance recorded while wearing their personal shoes. This suggests that the footwear’s design, which emphasizes a stable foundation and a roomier toe-box, allows players to access their power immediately upon entering the batter's box. The study also highlighted the role of proper sizing; when 31 athletes wearing incorrectly sized shoes were re-fitted, their performance metrics improved further, reinforcing the necessity of a secure ground connection for efficient force transfer.

Bob Winskowicz, founder and CEO of SQAIRZ, argued that footwear should be treated as essential performance equipment rather than a fashion choice. By focusing on human biomechanics and ground interaction, the company aims to address a frequently overlooked variable in athletic development. Sandy Ogg, CEO of CURVE Sports, noted that the collaboration aligns with their mission to provide objective, data-backed insights to athletes and coaches. The findings suggest that by optimizing the foundation beneath an athlete, teams can unlock marginal gains that were previously ignored.
