Little Rock to Host 51st Annual American Kidney Patient Meeting

The four-day conference kicks off at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center with a public policy forum, where attendees will examine federal regulatory impacts on kidney research and innovation. Following the opening session, the event shifts to the Little Rock Marriott for a series of educational workshops and presentations led by industry influencers and academic experts. Organizers have made the event free for patients, family members, and living organ donors to ensure accessibility for the community.

Local medical leadership will play a central role in this year's program. Dr. John M. Arthur, Chief of the Nephrology Division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, is slated to present on Cardio Kidney Metabolic Syndrome. Joining him, Joy Cope, Nursing Director of the Solid Organ Transplant Program at the same institution, will lead discussions on maintaining transplant eligibility and patient readiness. Registration is currently open for both in-person and virtual attendees, with complimentary meals provided for those joining on-site in Arkansas.
