Kaizen to Launch 50,000-Square-Foot Wellness Hub at Bayshore

A new fitness destination is set to arrive in Glendale this fall, occupying a 50,000-square-foot footprint at Bayshore. Founded by Dr. Ryan Poolay and Chad Meier, the facility aims to bridge the gap between high-volume gyms and luxury clubs by blending performance training with social and recovery amenities.

The project, located at 501 W Northshore Drive, moves away from industrial aesthetics in favor of a mid-century modern design intended to foster community engagement. Beyond standard strength and cardio zones, the space includes a 90-foot indoor turf area, two full-size gymnasiums, dedicated pickleball courts, and a café. Recovery remains a central pillar of the model, featuring dry saunas and studios for yoga and Pilates.

Personalized coaching serves as the foundation of the member experience. Every new sign-up receives a guided tour and a customized fitness plan, reflecting the founders' goal to prioritize long-term wellness over generic workouts. The facility was designed in collaboration with TKWA, with construction led by Kelly Construction and equipment partnerships including True Fitness and Woodway.

Community and Expansion

With an opening scheduled for fall 2026, the team is currently recruiting staff, including personal trainers, instructors for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, and baristas for the on-site café. The name Kaizen, derived from the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement, anchors the venture's focus on education and social connection. Prospective members can currently secure spots through the organization's website as the North Shore site prepares to begin operations.
