GroundWork and Solar Partners Tackle 200-Mile LoToJa Race for Charity

The LoToJa Classic, recognized as one of the most grueling single-day cycling events in the United States, serves as a platform for GroundWork to combat global energy poverty. CEO Ann Will and board member Mark Lewis are leading the charge, marking the company's fourth consecutive year of participation. The coalition of seven teams aims to bolster the delivery of Solar Suitcases—compact power systems designed to provide critical lighting and electricity for medical clinics during childbirth.

Reliable power remains a life-saving necessity in regions where maternal and newborn mortality rates are often exacerbated by energy instability. Dr. Laura Stachel, co-founder of We Care Solar, emphasized that these portable units provide essential support to doctors and midwives at the most critical moments of care.
