Sony Electronics is looking to dominate the party audio market with the launch of its new ULT TOWER series, a trio of high-pressure speakers tuned in collaboration with hip-hop producers. The lineup ranges from the compact ULT TOWER 5 to the massive, multi-driver ULT TOWER MAX, all designed for heavy-hitting bass.
Functionality for event hosts is a core design focus. All three models feature dedicated inputs for DJ setups and karaoke, with the larger units including upgraded wheels with wider treads for mobility. For outdoor environments, the ULT TOWER 7 and 5 carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating. Users can toggle between four sound profiles—ULT1, ULT2, FLAT, and LIVE—using a dedicated button, or customize the output via the Sony | Sound Connect app. The models are priced at $1,499.99 for the MAX, $649.99 for the 7, and $449.99 for the 5, with all units hitting shelves this September.
