To spearhead this expansion, the organization has promoted Dave van Klingeren to Vice President of Franchise Development for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Van Klingeren, a veteran with 15 years in the network, previously oversaw operations in the Netherlands and the Nordic region. His background as the founder of the franchise organization Zitaxi is expected to prove critical as he navigates the complexities of scaling BNI’s footprint in competitive European markets.
BNI Accelerates European Franchise Growth with Leadership Shuffle
With over 35,000 members already active across France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, BNI is aggressively scaling its European footprint. The world’s largest business referral organization is now awarding new franchise territories in these core markets to capitalize on years of regional momentum and sustained demand for professional networking infrastructure.

Michael Walchonski, BNI’s Chief Development Officer, noted that the European region remains a primary focus due to the long-standing success of the organization's referral-based business model. Currently, the network encompasses 1,500 chapters across the three target countries. With a robust pipeline of additional territories already identified, the organization intends to maintain this aggressive growth trajectory through 2027, catering to small-business owners seeking structured growth opportunities.
