The summit serves as a high-stakes showcase for Costa Rica’s maturing economic landscape, where services now account for 34% of exports, closely followed by medical devices at 31%. PROCOMER, the nation’s trade and investment agency, has curated 3,600 tailored meetings connecting delegations from 40 countries with 1,000 local firms. CEO Laura López emphasized that the event is designed to prove the country's capacity for high-value, complex operations, moving beyond traditional agricultural exports.
Costa Rica Hosts Global Investors for Trade and Investment Summit
More than 400 international buyers and investors have descended on San José for the second annual Costa Rica Trade & Investment Summit. Over three days, the gathering aims to bridge the gap between local exporters and global markets, facilitating thousands of meetings designed to secure new commercial partnerships and infrastructure projects.

Beyond boardroom negotiations, the event features a technical agenda covering digital transformation and artificial intelligence with speakers from the Financial Times Group and Microsoft. To demonstrate tangible operational capability, organizers are taking delegates on site visits to free trade zones and research hubs across the country. This practical approach follows a successful 2025 debut that generated $33 million in confirmed business deals. With national goods exports reaching $13.821 billion in the first seven months of 2026, the summit acts as a critical engine for maintaining this 5% growth trajectory.
