Christophe Younes has been appointed as senior executive officer of Carmignac Middle East Ltd and head of Middle East. Younes, who previously spent a decade at the firm before a tenure at PIMCO, will oversee distribution across the UAE. His leadership team includes board member Habib Achkar, a former Morgan Stanley executive with extensive experience in the Saudi and regional markets. The expansion follows a broader industry trend as firms like KKR and UBS also bolster their local presence to tap into the UAE's rising wealth management sector.
Paris Asset Manager Carmignac Opens Dubai Hub
Paris-based asset manager Carmignac has officially expanded into the Middle East, launching a new regional office within the Dubai International Financial Centre. The firm secured authorization from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, marking a calculated push to capture growing demand from institutional and private wealth investors across the region.
Rose Ouahba, group deputy CEO, noted that the firm intends to leverage its European experience to serve local institutions. The move is supported by the Dubai Economic Agenda, which continues to position the emirate as a primary gateway for global capital. Salmaan Jaffery, chief business development officer of the DIFC Authority, emphasized that the decision aligns with Dubai’s status as a hub for high-net-worth investors seeking sophisticated financial solutions.
