United Imaging Secures CE Mark for Dual Wide-Coverage CT Series

The uCT SiriuX and uCT SiriuX Ultrix have received CE Mark certification, marking the debut of the world’s first dual wide-coverage CT family. This regulatory approval enables United Imaging to begin commercial distribution across Europe, introducing a novel hardware architecture designed to redefine diagnostic imaging capabilities in clinical settings.

The platform utilizes a Twin-Ring Gantry architecture, pairing dual 16 cm Ultrix detectors with two liquid-metal-bearing X-ray tubes. This engineering shift supports three primary diagnostic functions: synchronized whole-organ dynamic imaging, ultra-high-resolution spatial capture, and whole-body spectral imaging. These features allow clinicians to observe physiological processes with heightened temporal precision while simultaneously performing detailed material characterization.

Stefan Ulzheimer, General Manager of CT for United Imaging Healthcare Europe, noted that the architecture represents a rare departure from standard industry designs. According to Ulzheimer, the development process relied heavily on direct feedback from European clinical partners, aiming to address specific gaps in current diagnostic workflows. The certification signals a strategic expansion for the company as it seeks to integrate these high-resolution systems into the broader European healthcare landscape.
