New Horizon Academy Expands Solar Footprint in Nebraska
Ninety-four solar panels are heading to the roof of a New Horizon Academy facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, marking the childcare provider's fifth solar installation in the state. The project is designed to generate 70,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, allowing the school to redirect utility savings toward its core educational mission.
The project is slated for completion this fall. Despite the harsh Midwestern winters, the array is engineered to withstand heavy snow loads, with tilted surfaces designed to shed accumulation naturally. Once the utility company approves the grid connection, the system will provide consistent, renewable power throughout the year. The installation process typically spans four weeks, a timeline consistent with the academy’s previous projects across Minnesota, Idaho, and Nebraska.
