In this newly created position, Cave will guide financial firms through critical transitions, including succession planning, independent moves, and strategic scaling. His process centers on evaluating an advisor’s current practice to design what the firm calls a "Preferred Future"—a roadmap that leverages OneAscent's specific platform and investment solutions. For Cave, the transition marks a return to the intersection of professional wealth strategy and faith-based financial principles, a space he helped formalize by founding the Christian Focus Group during his long tenure at Merrill Lynch.
Jeff Cave Joins OneAscent to Lead Strategic Partnerships
After two decades of navigating the complexities of wealth management at firms like Merrill Lynch and Eventide Asset Management, Jeff Cave has joined Birmingham-based OneAscent. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, he will focus on assisting financial advisors in aligning their business growth with long-term, values-driven impact.

Rob Grubb, Chief Operating Officer at OneAscent, noted that Cave’s background in high-net-worth management and his history of building successful advisory platforms make him a key addition to the firm. OneAscent currently supports 89 advisors across 41 firms, managing over $7.1 billion in assets. With his CIMA and CKA certifications and an MBA from the University of Minnesota, Cave is tasked with expanding this footprint by providing advisors the resources needed to navigate an increasingly crowded industry.
