John R. Peckham brings nearly 50 years of company experience to the interim position, having served as CEO from 1993 to 2021 before transitioning to his role as Chairman of the Board. His reappointment signals a return to the long-standing corporate culture known as The Peckham Way, which emphasizes the firm's history as a family-owned entity established in 1924.
John R. Peckham Returns as Interim CEO of Peckham Industries
After more than a century of family-led operations in Brewster, New York, Peckham Industries has abruptly parted ways with CEO Damian J. Murphy. John R. Peckham, who previously helmed the construction materials firm for nearly three decades, immediately returns to the chief executive role to provide stability during the leadership transition.

Addressing the shift, John R. Peckham stated that the company's core values—integrity, safety, and transparency—remain unchanged despite the executive departure. The firm, which operates across six states including New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont, confirmed that it expects no disruptions to daily operations or ongoing strategic growth initiatives. Peckham will retain his seat on the Board of Directors while the company manages the change in leadership.
