Schroders has introduced the Europe Equity Active UCITS ETF and the Japan Equity Active UCITS ETF, both listed on XETRA. These funds aim to identify companies with high-quality characteristics, mirroring the firm's broader strategy to offer active management with limited index-relative risk. Tom Stephens, head of ETFs at Schroders, stated that the move provides clients with more granular access to the firm’s investment expertise while targeting incremental alpha generation.
Simultaneously, Utmost is deepening its European footprint by launching Utmost Wealth Portugal. Led by director Pedro Paixão, the new entity leverages the firm's 2024 acquisition of Lombard International to distribute insurance-based wealth solutions directly to private banks and family offices in the region. This expansion follows a broader trend among global managers like Franklin Templeton and Invesco, who are also scaling their ETF ranges.
