Dimerix Secures A$34 Million Loan to Fund Kidney Disease Trials
Dimerix has finalized non-dilutive loan agreements worth A$34 million with a syndicate of Australian and U.S. lenders. The Melbourne-based biopharmaceutical firm intends to use the capital to finalize its Phase 3 ACTION3 trial for DMX-200 and accelerate the Phase 2 development of its DMX-652 treatment for acute kidney injury.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dimerix retains the flexibility to access additional capital, with the facility potentially reaching A$50 million by March 2027 if required. Repayment is structured to occur through future milestone payments from existing commercial partnerships, which currently hold the potential to generate up to A$237 million. The company remains focused on its lead asset, DMX-200, a chemokine receptor antagonist currently being tested for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a rare and life-threatening condition that currently lacks approved therapies.
