A $23 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund has fueled the launch of a new research and development facility at Silicon Labs’ Austin headquarters. The laboratory focuses on advanced chip design, testing, and validation, marking a strategic expansion of the company’s wireless connectivity portfolio within the state.
This expansion supports the company’s Series 3 platform, which integrates security and AI capabilities for applications ranging from smart home devices to industrial and healthcare systems. By securing funding through the Texas CHIPS Act, Silicon Labs aims to solidify its position in the competitive semiconductor landscape while reinforcing the region’s status as a hub for high-value engineering and research.
