Midea Unveils AI-Driven Home Ecosystem at IFA 2026

Amid the bustling halls of Berlin’s IFA 2026, Midea has debuted its "Simply ideal" vision, transforming its product lineup through an aggressive integration of artificial intelligence. The manufacturer used the stage to launch a suite of AI-powered appliances while cementing a five-year global partnership with FC Barcelona.

The company’s new SMART MASTER ecosystem serves as the backbone of this transformation. By deploying an AI Agent, Midea aims to move beyond basic automation, enabling appliances to handle complex domestic tasks ranging from cooking and laundry to holistic home management. This intelligence extends to the AI ECOMASTER system, which monitors household routines to optimize power consumption and climate control. During the presentation, Cliff Liang, General Manager of Enterprise Commercial for Microsoft in China, joined Midea to discuss the trajectory of AI in consumer technology.

Hardware design also received a significant update, specifically through the SPACE MASTER series, which maximizes internal storage capacity without increasing the refrigerator’s physical footprint. For the European market, Midea introduced the Milanese-inspired Ispira built-in series and the InfiniteFit hob line, focusing on aesthetic integration. Sustainability remains a central pillar of the new portfolio; the company’s R290 series cooling systems are designed to reach 10% higher energy efficiency, while the Tri-GreenApex dishwasher system claims to use 50% less energy than the current European A-rating standard.

Beyond technical specifications, the booth hosted former FC Barcelona captain Carles Puyol, who underscored the brand's pivot toward high-performance branding. The event also featured Tobin Richardson, CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, who highlighted Midea’s implementation of the Matter protocol to ensure interoperability across its smart home devices. As Midea Group continues its expansion—currently ranked 231st on the Fortune Global 500—these innovations represent a broader strategy to unify its seven core business pillars through advanced connectivity.
