Schroders Enters Thai Wealth Market Through TMBThanachart Partnership

UK-based Schroders is expanding its footprint in Southeast Asia by forming a joint venture with ttb wealth securities, a subsidiary of TMBThanachart Bank. The collaboration aims to provide sophisticated investment strategies to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, marking a strategic shift toward localized partnerships to capture growing regional affluence.

The firms plan to establish a shared investment forum to exchange market insights and develop discretionary solutions. Their initial priority involves launching a bespoke global multi-asset portfolio for TTB's private clients, leveraging Schroders' long-standing global asset-allocation expertise. This move mirrors a trend among major international players, including Julius Baer and DBS, who have utilized similar joint venture models to navigate the Thai market.

Katherine Cox, head of client group for South Asia at Schroders, pointed to the firm's two centuries of experience as a foundation for navigating the region’s diverse requirements. For ttb wealth securities, the partnership addresses a growing demand for international exposure. CEO Saranya Phuphatana noted that limiting portfolios to domestic assets is no longer a viable strategy for clients facing increased market volatility. By integrating Schroders’ global research, local advisors aim to offer more robust, conviction-led investment advice.
