The latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, which polled 39,878 employers across 42 countries, reveals that the global labor market is undergoing a fundamental redesign. While 43% of firms plan to increase headcount through December, the focus has pivoted away from like-for-like replacements toward roles that demand new technical expertise. According to Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup Chair and CEO, the core challenge for leadership in the coming years involves scaling work redesign rather than simply displacing existing staff.
Sector and Regional Trends
Regional data shows a clear divide in optimism. The Americas lead global hiring sentiment with a 36% outlook, bolstered by strong growth in Brazil and Panama. Meanwhile, the Asia Pacific region reports a 34% outlook, driven by India’s robust 54% hiring intent. Europe and the Middle East trail slightly at 22%, though the United Arab Emirates remains a regional standout. Across all sectors, Construction and Real Estate, alongside Finance and Insurance, report the highest demand for talent, with Construction seeing a significant 13-point year-over-year improvement.
