SlateSafety Launches BEACON V3 for Industrial Exposure Monitoring

Atlanta-based SlateSafety has launched the BEACON V3, a standalone sensor array built to track environmental hazards without relying on personal smartphones or local IT networks. Designed for heavy industry, the device monitors heat stress, noise levels, and lone worker status to provide safety managers with immediate, site-wide visibility.

The hardware functions as a wearable or mountable unit, capturing granular data points including air temperature, humidity, and dew point, alongside heat indices like eWBGT. To address long-term occupational health, it tracks sound pressure levels and calculates time-weighted averages to prevent hearing damage. For personnel in isolated areas, the device includes automated fall detection, impact alerts, and an SOS button, with location tracking via GPS and indoor positioning.

CEO Zack Braun stated that the device consolidates multiple safety metrics into a single ecosystem to eliminate blind spots in hazardous environments. The unit communicates through BLE, WiFi, and cellular networks, allowing for configurable alert thresholds. It also integrates with the company’s existing BAND V2 physiological monitor, creating a unified dashboard for tracking both environmental conditions and individual worker health in real-time.
