Lectrium Launches Lumi to Bring AI Conversations to Car Dealership Sites

Shoppers often abandon dealership websites to consult external AI tools like ChatGPT for vehicle research, leaving dealers out of the loop. Palo Alto-based startup Lectrium is now addressing this gap with Lumi, an AI agent designed to turn static vehicle listings into interactive, inventory-aware conversations directly on dealer pages.

Lumi integrates directly into Vehicle Detail Pages, utilizing inventory feeds, OEM data, and government records to answer buyer questions in real time. Whether a shopper is curious about towing capacities, trim differences, or the long-term cost of switching to an electric vehicle, the agent provides specific, grounded responses tailored to the dealership’s current stock. By keeping these interactions on the dealer's site, the platform aims to guide buyers toward the right vehicle within the existing inventory, ultimately funneling high-quality leads directly into the store’s CRM.

The underlying technology uses a modern agent harness that connects frontier LLMs to a dealership’s specific data, including store policies and incentives. This architecture allows the agent to evolve alongside new model capabilities while remaining customizable to a dealer's unique brand voice. For dealerships, the value extends beyond simple lead generation; the tool captures granular insights into what prospective buyers find confusing or essential, allowing sales teams to refine their messaging and online presence.

Germain Automotive Partnership has already deployed the agent across 17 of its locations. John Germain, vice president of the group, noted that the platform effectively bridges the gap between modern research habits and the dealership's own digital storefront. Lectrium, which currently supports over 500 active dealership customers, has designed Lumi to integrate seamlessly with major website and inventory feed providers, ensuring that the tool remains active regardless of showroom hours or staff availability.
