Abram joined Starwood in 2015, rising to Managing Director in 2023 and Co-Head of the Global Hotel Group in 2024. He will retain his existing title as Head of International Hotels while taking on these expanded regional responsibilities. His appointment comes as Starwood actively deploys capital from its latest $10.2 billion opportunistic fund, which reached its final closing in July 2026.
Starwood Capital Promotes Tim Abram to Head of Asset Management, Europe
London-based executive Tim Abram has been appointed Head of Asset Management for Europe at Starwood Capital Group. A decade-long veteran of the firm, Abram will expand his oversight beyond his current portfolio of international hotels to lead value creation and deal execution across the firm’s broader European real estate interests.

Chairman and CEO Barry Sternlicht cited the firm’s long-term activity in the European market as a primary driver for the leadership shift. Abram is expected to coordinate closely with Matt Parrott and Francesco Zanella, who serve as co-heads of European Acquisitions. Before his tenure at Starwood, Abram held roles in the investment banking divisions of UBS and Citi in London, focusing on real estate, lodging, and distressed debt. He holds degrees from University College London and the London School of Economics.
