EVA Networks Launches Ephemeral Connectivity Platform

Providence-based startup EVA Networks has exited stealth mode with a platform that treats enterprise network connectivity as a temporary resource rather than a permanent fixture. By dynamically establishing encrypted paths only when required and dismantling them upon task completion, the firm aims to shrink the enterprise attack surface.

Traditional zero-trust frameworks often focus on identity, yet the underlying network paths between clouds, data centers, and third-party partners remain perpetually exposed. EVA Networks shifts this paradigm by applying a lifecycle model to connectivity: intent, policy, encrypted connection, observation, and expiration. This approach eliminates the need for long-lived tunnels, routes, and static firewall policies that attackers frequently target.

Founder and CEO Dan Sheldon notes that while compute and identity have evolved toward just-in-time models, network infrastructure has remained stubbornly static. The platform is designed to integrate into existing environments rather than requiring a complete overhaul, targeting use cases such as B2B vendor access, multi-cloud communications, and increasingly common agentic AI workloads. Through its Ephemeral Agent Paths, the system provides time-bound connectivity for automated services that require short-lived, governed interactions.

Early adoption is already underway among Fortune 50 companies, supported by go-to-market partnerships with firms including World Wide Technology and ePlus. Brian Gilbert, VP of AI and Global Engineering, highlighted the platform's ability to provide a transparent layer of protection without forcing enterprises to replace their current network stack. As workloads become more transient, EVA is positioning its software-defined connectivity as the necessary next step for securing complex, distributed infrastructure.
