The practice began with a focused mission: providing accessible, neighborhood-based pediatric care that accommodated the actual schedules of working parents. As demand surged, the clinic expanded from its original footprint into a purpose-built facility in Glenwood Park in 2009, followed by the opening of the Brookhaven branch in 2017 and the Decatur location in 2022. This physical expansion allowed the practice to scale its services, which now range from routine newborn exams and immunizations to complex management of chronic conditions and adolescent mental health support.
Two Decades of Growth for Atlanta's Intown Pediatrics
From a converted Grant Park bungalow in 2006 to a three-location network serving thousands of families, Intown Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine is marking 20 years of community-focused care. Founder Deneta H. Sells, MD, FAAP, now watches children she treated as newborns return to the clinic as young adults.

Retention remains a core pillar of the group's culture. Several clinicians currently on staff first joined the practice as residents or graduate students during their clinical rotations, choosing to return as attending professionals. This continuity has helped preserve the original neighborhood-doctor philosophy even as the medical team grew to include board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners. With offices now positioned across Glenwood Park, Brookhaven, and Decatur, the group continues to emphasize long-term patient relationships, offering flexible evening and Saturday appointments to maintain the accessibility that defined its start two decades ago.
