Before immigrating to the United States and earning his citizenship, Al-Kadhim served as an interpreter and translator for U.S. Marines and Army units in combat zones. His dedication to service continued upon his arrival in the U.S., where he enlisted in the Army National Guard and trained as a commercial truck driver. Today, he channels that experience into training new professional drivers, emphasizing the same discipline he applied during his military career.
Veteran Fahad Al-Kadhim Receives Commercial Truck in Progressive Program
Fahad Al-Kadhim, a U.S. Army veteran from Macomb, Michigan, is the latest recipient of a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia through Progressive Insurance’s Keys to Progress program. The award aims to bolster Al-Kadhim’s transition into independent business ownership, honoring his history of military service and his ongoing commitment to driver safety.

Karen Bailo, president of Progressive Commercial Lines, noted that the program seeks to support veterans whose professional journeys demonstrate perseverance and purpose. For Al-Kadhim, the donation serves as a foundational asset to launch his own trucking enterprise. The initiative was supported by partnerships with Velocity, 1-800-Charity Cars, Insurance Auto Auctions, and Veracity Research Co. Investigations, which assisted in the logistics and selection process for the vehicle grant.
