Firm founder Michael Heim continues a two-decade streak on the Super Lawyers list, joined by Leslie Payne, Russell Chorush, and Eric Enger. Chorush earned additional acclaim for his antitrust expertise, while Blaine Larson secured his sixth consecutive appearance on the Rising Stars list for his work in patent law. Carlos Ruiz joined the Rising Stars rankings for the first time, specifically recognized for his contributions to antitrust litigation.
Six Houston Attorneys From Heim, Payne & Chorush Earn State Honors
Six trial attorneys from the Houston-based intellectual property boutique Heim, Payne & Chorush have secured spots on the 2026 Texas Super Lawyers and Texas Rising Stars lists. The recognition highlights the firm’s sustained influence in complex patent and antitrust litigation across the state.

These honors follow a string of courtroom successes for the firm, most notably the defense of a $37.5 million verdict for Atlas Global Technologies. The victory, affirmed by a federal appeals court, involved a high-stakes patent dispute regarding Wi-Fi technology in the Eastern District of Texas. Beyond these individual rankings, the boutique maintains a prominent profile in industry guides including Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers of America, where Heim was recently named Houston’s Lawyer of the Year for intellectual property disputes.
