The appointment signals a strategic shift for the firm, which operates out of London and Jersey. Bloomsbury Money is evolving from a specialized money services provider into a multi-jurisdictional network. Holst’s mandate involves building a core infrastructure capable of maintaining consistent regulatory control while facilitating seamless cross-border value movement. His background in healthcare software—a field demanding rigorous data protection and auditability—is viewed by leadership as a critical asset for building resilient financial systems.
Bloomsbury Money Group Taps Former SAP Engineer as CTO
Thomas Holst, a veteran engineer from SAP’s healthcare technology division, has been named Chief Technology Officer at Bloomsbury Money Group. He is tasked with architecting a unified global platform that integrates fiat currency, regulated digital assets, and local payment rails across multiple jurisdictions.

Co-founder Manu Choudhary noted that the company requires infrastructure that functions identically in every new market it enters, regardless of the local payment rails or asset types involved. CEO Chris Park emphasized that the firm is prioritizing "boring" technology—systems that are auditable, stable, and built to withstand intense regulatory scrutiny. Holst himself views the role as a rare opportunity to construct a core network from the ground up, rather than retrofitting new products onto legacy architecture. He intends to apply his experience with cloud-based health data applications to ensure that trust remains a technical property of the platform’s design.
