Unplanned downtime costs industrial operators millions, a reality SKF aims to counter with its new Progressive Lubrication Pump (PLP). Launched in Gothenburg, the system integrates modular design with advanced monitoring to automate the delivery of grease, effectively minimizing manual maintenance and extending the lifespan of critical mechanical components.
"Every hour of unplanned downtime matters," said Christophe Laurans, Head of Automatic Lubrication Systems at SKF. The design prioritizes long-term investment protection, allowing for easier upgrades as operational needs evolve.
