The deal transitions Meridian’s existing client roster—including APL, MedCline, and VKTRY—onto Searchable’s proprietary platform, which tracks brand mentions and citations across 10 major AI engines. With a corpus spanning one billion AI citations and 400 million brand references, Searchable aims to dominate the AEO sector, which helps companies secure placement within AI-generated responses. This move follows a $14 million seed round led by Headline in May 2026, valuing the company at $85 million.
Searchable Acquires Meridian to Scale AI Visibility in the U.S.
London-based AI visibility platform Searchable has secured a seven-figure acquisition of New York startup Meridian Tech, marking a strategic push to capture the emerging answer engine optimization market. The consolidation unites two early-stage players as Searchable simultaneously establishes a new operational presence in Salt Lake City.

Searchable CEO Chris Donnelly noted that American brands represent the most aggressive segment in the AI visibility race. Meridian co-founder Alex Dees added that integrating with Searchable provides his customers with the advanced tracking tools necessary to navigate how users discover brands through chatbots. The acquisition serves as a cornerstone for Searchable’s growth, as analysts project the AEO market to reach $10.7 billion by 2031.
