Hyundai Pledges $150,000 to Support Savannah Pediatric Health

The funding package splits into two primary focus areas: $100,000 dedicated to pediatric cancer programs and $50,000 aimed at expanding local child passenger safety resources. This donation arrives as Hyundai deepens its ties to the area, home to the company’s massive electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Bryan County.

Since 2022, the partnership between Hyundai and the hospital has evolved to prioritize injury prevention through the Safe Kids Savannah coalition. The latest infusion of capital will support the hospital's Child Passenger Safety Program, which provides essential car seat inspections and replacements. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, proper use of age-appropriate restraints remains critical, as it can reduce fatal injury risks by up to 71 percent for infants.

Beyond safety education, the grant supports long-term pediatric cancer treatment. Hyundai Hope on Wheels, which has contributed over $300 million to childhood cancer research nationally since 1998, capped the announcement with its signature Handprint Ceremony. During the event, patients and families placed handprints on a Hyundai vehicle, symbolizing a collective commitment to the ongoing battle against childhood illness.
