After commanding major transit agencies and steering Denver International Airport through multibillion-dollar capital programs, Phillip A. Washington has transitioned to the private sector. The transportation veteran joins HNTB as president of strategy and client service, marking a significant leadership hire for the infrastructure firm.
At HNTB, Washington will focus on strengthening client engagement and identifying emerging opportunities within an increasingly complex infrastructure landscape. Mike Inabinet, president of markets and services, noted that Washington’s experience in policy and organizational leadership will be central to navigating the firm's future investments. A retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major and a member of the American Public Transportation Association Hall of Fame, Washington will leverage his background in both defense and public transit to guide HNTB’s strategic direction.
