Non-Executive Chair Charles Szews stated that integrating the perspective of major shareholders directly into boardroom discussions is intended to support the company’s strategic execution.
Group 1 Automotive Expands Board with Conifer Management Representative
Group 1 Automotive is expanding its board of directors from ten to eleven members, appointing Benjamin Hart to the seat effective November 1, 2026. Hart, a member of the investment team at Conifer Management—one of the company’s largest shareholders—joins the board under a newly finalized stockholder agreement.

Benjamin Hart brings nearly two decades of investment experience to the role, including previous positions at Glenville Capital Management and The Haverford Trust Company. He currently serves on the board of the UK-based diagnostics firm CelLBxHealth. Under the terms of the agreement between Group 1 and Conifer, the company will file customary provisions regarding voting, standstill, and confidentiality with the SEC.
