ADAMA Targets Indian Wheat Markets with New Herbicide

The new product combines pyroxasulfone and metribuzin to provide dual-mode residual control against broadleaf and grass weeds. By targeting the pre-emergence stage, the herbicide aims to eliminate the need for multiple applications throughout the growing season, a common pain point for farmers managing high-infestation fields.

Germain Boulay, Head of Global Herbicides at ADAMA, noted that the increasing resistance of Phalaris minor has complicated weed management across the region. Field trials conducted across India’s major wheat-growing belts demonstrated that this formulation maintains efficacy under significant weed pressure while supporting long-term crop productivity. With its official registration secured, ADAMA plans to distribute the product starting in September 2026.
