The capital injection aims to deepen the center’s research capabilities and its influence on policy-making as the financial sector grapples with rapid shifts in artificial intelligence, digital assets, and evolving market structures. Michael G. Psaros, a 1989 graduate and managing partner of KPS Capital Partners, described the contribution as an act of patriotism, reinforcing the institution’s mission to provide rigorous, objective analysis to both Washington lawmakers and Wall Street leaders.

Founded by Professor Reena Aggarwal following the 2008 financial crisis, the center serves as a bridge between academia and the highest levels of government. Its recent programming has featured prominent voices including the Speaker of the House and top Federal Reserve officials. To oversee this expansion, the university recently appointed Michael Piwowar, a former acting chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as executive director. Under his leadership, the center plans to broaden its engagement with students and industry stakeholders, further utilizing its bench of distinguished fellows, including former regulators and congressional leaders, to shape the future of financial policy.
