DTA Foundation Launches DentSquad for National Brush Day

November 1 marks the annual return of National Brush Day, a campaign designed to turn post-Halloween candy fatigue into a lasting commitment to oral hygiene. The DTA Foundation is spearheading this year’s effort, encouraging families to adopt the two-minute, twice-a-day brushing routine through an interactive, superhero-themed initiative.

The #NBDDentSquad program introduces four mascots—Captain Paste, Doctor Brush, Floss Fury, and The Cool Rinse—to gamify dental care for children. Families can participate by completing activity sheets and sharing their progress on social media or the official campaign website. Participants enter for a chance to win one of five $100 Amazon gift cards, while educators and parents can access free downloadable resources to support local awareness efforts.

Tim Long, DTA Foundation board chair and A-dec chief commercial officer, views this campaign as a critical step in fostering lifelong health habits. By focusing on early intervention, the organization aims to build confidence and dental well-being for children across the country. The initiative reflects the broader mission of the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation, which supports dental workforce development and expanded access to care through scholarships and community partnerships.
