Health Net Invests $3 Million to Build Stockton Senior Housing
A vacant parcel on South Airport Way in Stockton is transforming into a dedicated community for older adults, backed by a $3 million grant from Health Net. The project, known as Fairview Terrace, aims to provide 76 affordable homes for residents aged 55 and older by 2027.
Amber Kemp, a vice president at Health Net, emphasized that the project links residential stability directly to improved health outcomes. Local officials, including San Joaquin County Supervisor Mario Gardea, noted that the collaboration serves as a model for addressing regional housing needs. This grant is part of a broader $284 million commitment by the health plan over the last five years to address social determinants of health, including $11 million specifically directed toward housing initiatives in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties.
