Barclays Recruits Wee Yee-Yeong to Lead Asia Private Banking
Barclays has tapped Morgan Stanley veteran Wee Yee-Yeong to spearhead its private banking operations in Singapore and across the broader Asia Pacific region. The appointment arrives as the British lender seeks to capitalize on its newly established Singapore booking centre to capture more business from ultra-high-net-worth entrepreneurs and family offices.
Based in Singapore, Wee will oversee the private bank’s distribution teams and focus on expanding the firm’s reach among internationally mobile wealth creators. Annabelle Bryde, head of Barclays Private Bank International, noted that the move is central to the bank's regional growth strategy. Meanwhile, Adrish Ghosh continues to lead Private Bank India, reporting directly to Bryde. Barclays maintains a presence in the Asia Pacific region spanning more than 50 years, with current operations across markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Mainland China.
