As the legal industry grapples with how to cultivate professional judgment in an era dominated by automation, startup rubi has unveiled an AI-powered mentor. The tool provides on-demand training and practice simulations, with The University of Texas School of Law and the University of Minnesota Law School among the first to adopt.
Texas Law has integrated the tool into its Law and Business Program, providing access to every incoming student this fall. Similarly, the Corporate Institute at the University of Minnesota Law School is utilizing the platform to complement its existing clinical and externship offerings. According to Vishal Sivamani, a rising 2L at the University of Chicago Law School, the ability to practice underlying legal tasks provides a necessary foundation for effectively supervising AI tools in future practice. The platform is currently available for institutional adoption and individual purchase, signaling a shift in how law schools and firms approach the training of the next generation of associates.
