Fifty-six Taiwanese companies drew thousands of attendees to the Taiwan Flagship Showcase at Chicago’s McCormick Place last week, marking a significant push to integrate Taiwan’s high-precision manufacturing ecosystem into the North American semiconductor and automation supply chains during the IMTS 2026 conference held September 14–19.
Simon Wang, President and CEO of TAITRA, noted that the event successfully demonstrated the agility of Taiwan’s industrial base in meeting specific, high-demand manufacturing requirements. Beyond individual sales, the initiative functioned as a collective "Team Taiwan" strategy, positioning the island's manufacturers as a comprehensive solution for companies looking to streamline their supply chains. Several participants reported securing immediate alignments with U.S. manufacturers, effectively bypassing traditional procurement hurdles to establish long-term service and support agreements.
