National Hispanic Health Foundation Debuts Advocacy-Focused Action Fund
Under the chandeliers of The University Club in Washington, the National Hispanic Health Foundation officially inaugurated its new Action Fund on September 16. The launch signals a strategic pivot for the organization, moving beyond research and education to directly influence federal and state policy regarding healthcare equity for underserved communities.
The reception also honored legislative and industry leaders for their contributions to health equity. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) received the Hispanic Health Leadership Award on Capitol Hill, pledging to continue her role as a vocal advocate for lowering costs and expanding access for Latino patients. Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., and former Centene executive Carl Garrett were also recognized during the evening ceremony for their professional commitments to the field.
